I have put together a new version of my singing group Elegant Catastrophe Singers, specifically to appear as backup singers for the comedy/music phenomenon known as Mark Siano & The Freedom Dancers. Their new show is called
Back To The Soft Rock, at the Triple Door, Oct. 9 & 10 (7:30 & 10pm each night). Here is how the press release describes it:
Comedian Mark Siano and the funny and foxy Freedom Dancers are one of Seattle's top cabaret acts. After performing to two sold-out houses this January, they return to The Triple Door with an all new show: Back To The Soft Rock. Siano and the Freedom Dancers will take audiences back to an era when music was softer and fashion was louder - and when dancers had the power to move space and time. Featuring high energy dance numbers, stand-up and sketch comedy, original music, and hyper campy sing-alongs (backed by the always big and always live Comfort Band), Back to the Soft Rock is an entertainment juggernaut not to be missed.
The set list features a range of catchy tunes, not the least of which is the song we were specifically hired to support, "Bohemian Rhapsody". Should be a delightfully ridiculous evening - hope to see you there!
