Make Art Not Content
In August 2007, I gave an Ignite talk on the topic of Internet art - where it's been, where it's going, and more importantly, where it isn't going. The format of Ignite talks is a rigid five minutes, with 20 PowerPoint slides that mercilessly charge forward every fifteen seconds whether you like it or not. Fortunately, you can stop and start the YouTube video so that you can, you know, take better notes or whatever.
I'm just kidding about stopping and starting the video, by the way. Instead I have helpfully provided you with the actual PowerPoint presentation I used, which also contains my scripted notes. Go forth, feel clever, do something interesting! I realize the irony of giving a talk on this subject when I myself have hardly ever even remotely brushed past the concept of innovation in a train station or on the street. That doesn't mean I'm wrong!
