“Studies Show: Reality is Mutable” is a cinematic virtual reality experience by artist/software developer Jacob Fennell, combining spherical video and a multi-path science fiction story.
Shot entirely in Seattle using a custom camera developed by Fennell, goggle-wearing participants become the main character in an experience where they are zapped into a strange but familiar world, where they have their fortune told in Volunteer Park, tour a spiritually possessed Georgetown Steam Plant, float through the arboretum in a kayak, and more.
“Reality is Mutable” features a script written by playwright Scotto Moore, and talent includes several stars of the Seattle dance and fringe theater scenes: LaChrista Borgers, Erin Ison, Kt Niehoff, Pilar O'Connell, Sean V. Owen, Tae Phoenix, Kyla Roberts, and Drew Santoro.
Jacob Fennell is a Seattle artist, software developer, and educator, with an MFA from Pacific Northwest College of Art. His current work focuses on virtual reality research, and aims to make technology inspirational and accessible. https://jacobfennell.com/
